Thornberg & Forester was selected to create the opening, awards show package and key art graphics for the 2009 MI6 Conference. Our task was to develop an idea that visually illustrates the theme of this year’s conference, “Mastering the Momentum”. When we began concepting, we discovered the shape of the angular momentum equation graphically resembles the number 6. To bring our idea to life, we linked the idea of the scientific equation with the momentum theme and the MI6 brand. We also invented a video game thug, named Kron, who guides us through an adrenaline-rushed experience in his slick supercar. Kron's journey of brute strength becomes a metaphor for the intensity of the thriving video game industry and market.
DreamWorks Animation and Conservation International joined forces to commission this special feature for the DVD release of Kung Fu Panda. Thornberg & Forester directed this PSA about the plight of the wild panda and shot Jack Black at Paramount Studios during his press junket for the film. The video entertains and communicates CI's core values through a combination of 3D animation and footage captured around the world.
These IDs were created as part of the design and production of a branding package for Planet Green, a Discovery Communications network. The package is based on the disarmingly simple concept of a dot and a line, symbolically representing Planet Green and its audience. Those basic elements are employed in a myriad of playful ways to support the network’s “What Next” theme and to position it as fun, hip and forward-thinking. Click here to see the rest of the project.
